Very slow USPS delivery via Richmond, CA sorting office?
Wednesday, April 30th, 2008I and apparently many other people have experienced very slow USPS delivery through the Richmond, CA sorting office, esp. with MediaMail (the cheapest form of shipping, used by eBay, amazon sellers)
- this only seems to happen with Richmond, CA office
(in my case a package sat there for 3 wks - usually get packages from abroad faster than that)
- very slow sorting at Richmond, CA is a known issue with USPS; I filed a complaint
Have any of you experienced this? And did you get any satisfaction from USPS?
- I suggested to amazon their sellers should send the customer the tracking number *immediately* when they despatch, not when I call up 3wks later to complain the item never arrived.
Then we would know it was a USPS delivery problem, not the reseller never shipping the item.
This is specifically about Richmond, CA sorting office - otherwise I’m very happy with USPS’s service (which office were you unhappy with?).
I wanted to alert people that there is a serious problem at Richmond, CA.
For books, Media Mail, being the cheapest option, is the default, and often the only option.
I know how to complain to the Postmaster General, thanks.
The solution meantime is to use UPS for time-critical items.
